Kevon Edmonds (Babyface's brother) deserves a spot on the solo list.

There hasn't been a whole of a discussion on here lately, though I think we've got just about all of the major players here. How about we start ranking these guys? I'd say we could rank all of the solo male artists first and then rank the duos/groups, and then afterwards combine the two. We could do the same with the female lists and then finally combine everything.

For solo male, I think the most obvious choice for #1 is James Brown.

Judging from the rock lists, I suppose this would be the cream of the crop (not neccesarily in these orders):

Solo:

James Brown
Ray Charles
Stevie Wonder
Michael Jackson
Marvin Gaye
Fats Domino
Sam Cooke
Prince
Otis Redding
Smokey Robinson
Curtis Mayfield
Al Green

Groups:

The Temptations
Sly & The Family Stone
Parliament-Funkadelic
The Drifters
The Isley Brothers
The Four Tops
Earth, Wind & Fire
