i figured out that the bends is Radiohead's best collection of melodies. Nearly every song feels like a kumbayah my lord, join in hands, lighters up in the air, concert feel. And usually they are when they're played live these days. The Bends is a definite classic in the grand scheme of the alternative world.

Melodies aren't always that great. The beatles have great melodies on a lot of their older stuff (and they're less old stuff too, but they had more elements at that time) but you hear of those songs/albums way less because they're not as good.

For me, the bends will probably never achieve top ten, even when I'm on a radiorampage.

Oh yeah. It's one of the most ear captivating albums I've ever heard. Very interesting piece of music they put together there.
